Ending my year in grand style.
I recently heard someone say, “I don’t do new year resolutions, I just do whatever I have to do whenever I have to”, it’s vague, but I kind of agree with it. Though, I also do new year resolutions and sometimes plan i try to plan my year, things I’d love to achieve at the end and things I wouldn’t want to find myself doing.
I don’t know about you though, probably you do a lot of planning and try all year long to stick to them or maybe you’re the spontaneous type and in wild cases you’re probably both, like me! Whatever it is, you should be proud of yourself and your accomplishments this year no matter how small, big, significant or insignificant it may seem.
I started this blog a year ago, I didn’t know how much I could do or how far I could go with it, and pI still don’t know. One thing I had to struggle with a lot this year was CONSISTENCY and staying INSPIRED. I won’t say it was entirely my fault, trying to make the best of this space coupled with dealing with medical school sometimes felt overwhelming, but all the save, we’ve got to do what we’ve got to do.
My 2nd professional exams came up and I could in no way compromise, it involved me putting my body and soul to work to come out successful and thank God I did!
Then, I needed a phone to get me more involved on the blog and to take my pictures. This stalled me greatly, there were no other options at that point for me. After months of saving, planning and waiting, I got a new phone!
I would say I started my blog on impulse, I mean I had no plan, I didn’t have an idea what I wanted and how I wanted to go about anything, would I have done it any other way? My answer is No. I’m growing, and I would love to come back to this space in 10yrs and appreciate my growth. Sometimes I wonder where I’d be in 10yrs, but I know one thing for sure is that I won’t be here, I won’t be where I am now and that’s because I’m out here constantly making moves.
2019 will be same, I won’t be tired, I won’t relent, I won’t be discouraged, I’ll keep fighting till I get to that point of fulfilment. I want to encourage you to do same for yourself, to keep working, you are probably not where you want to be or even remotely close to it but you’ll be a bit farther away from where you used to be. Let’s keep this spirit and energy come 2019.
It’s going to be a better year, more planning and more organisation which also doesn’t stop me from doing whatever I’ve got to do whenever I’ve got to do it.
My best quote has been and still is:
“Greatness is not achieved by never falling but by rising every time you fall” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Keep enjoying this journey.
